On November 16, 2023, the Persatuan Mahasiswa Sains Komputer (PERSAKA) of the Faculty of Computing accomplished the seamless organization of “CompFair’24” within the physical confines of N28a, Faculty of Computing, Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).
The Faculty of Computing was filled with excitement and pride as students gathered for the anticipated “CompFair’24.” This yearly IT event, organized by UTM’s Faculty of Computing, is significant for students, faculty, industry professionals, and the wider community. It’s more than just an exhibition of IT advancements. It’s a doorway to the Faculty of Computing for UTM students and the general public, providing an opportunity to explore various computing fields.
The event encompasses seminars, hands-on workshops, games, and exhibitions, fostering networking and collaboration among faculty, students, and industry partners. Inclusivity is a key theme, welcoming diverse participants and promoting knowledge-sharing and innovation. CompFair 2023 caters to a wide range of interests, offering opportunities for technical skill enhancement, industry insights, and a glimpse into the dynamic world of computing.
The program was officially inaugurated by Prof. Ts. Dr. Wan Mohd Nasir Bin Wan Kadir, the esteemed Dean of the Faculty of Computing, emphasizing the event’s significance in academic and professional spheres.

Flutter Workshop with Abang Caspian Abang Thairani: Mastering the Flutter Framework
Abang Caspian Abang Thairani, the Chief Executive Officer of Caspian Consultancy Services, conducted a Flutter Workshop that was both informative and engaging. The workshop focused on Flutter, an open-source UI software development toolkit, and Mr Thairani provided expert guidance on how to use it effectively. Participants gained practical experience in creating dynamic and responsive user interfaces using Flutter, which solidified the importance of this framework in modern app development.
